Are there records of where Henry VIII went/stayed on his summer progresses during the years of his reign? (I have attempted to look for this information in Letters & Papers but haven't been successful.) I'm particularly interested in the summer of 1538.

Alison Weir's "King & Court" has all that information in. I bought it to help with research and I am indebted to it :)

Going back to Letters & Papers, is it possible to roughly ascertain where Henry was in a given month by the distribution of weekly alms and offerings, as in the Misc. document from 1538? Do the alms distributions reflect the King's presence in those communities that are mentioned?
