I guess most human beings are a mixture of both "heart" and "head" tendencies. As we mature, it seems thinking with the head becomes more developed than thinking with the heart. If that is the case, that would be one factor to consider when comparing Elizabeth to Mary-nine year age difference. Elizabeth certainly had a cooler, more deliberate way of considering romance and marriage than the impulsive Mary.
I wonder if the differences between Elizabeth and Mary were more related to nature or nature. I think nurture would have been huge when you think of Elizabeth's upbringing.
