Question from Kay - 16th century medical training

I am curious about medical training in the sixteenth century. What were the qualifications and studies required to practice medicine?

I thought I'd posted this comment before - lost in the verification process, I guess.

The autobiography of Felix Platter, a medical student in 16thC Europe. Not England, but it's safe to assume similarities.

It's an entertaining read, picareque.
