Question from Diana - Anne writing to Henry concerning Elizabeth

Does any one know if Anne wrote to Henry in regards to the Princess Elizabeth? I find very little information on Anne's relationship with the Princess. Can anyone refer me to letters or resources? Thanks,

Diana

As a follow-up question - aside from Anne's time in the Tower, how much were she and Henry apart after Elizabeth's birth? How many occasions were there for letter writing?

The only thing that I can think of is the letter Anne wrote to Henry 2 days before her execution. In this letter, she says, “I beg you not to let an unworthy stain of disloyalty blot me and the infant Princess your daughter.” You can find the letter amongst the state papers

Scroll down to May 6th

But before you get too excited, the letter has been deemed a forgery. too bad. It is a very feisty letter!

In general, very few of Anne letters have survived. I think that is one of the main reasons why historians are so drawn to her. It’s very easy to attach your own voice to someone who left few letters.

If any letters were written, they were probably destroyed after her fall.
During his affair with her, he burned her letters in order to keep i a secret as long as possible.
After her fall, it can be reasoned that anything that remained of her was destroyed.
