Question from Victoria - Sleeping arrangements for Maids of Honor

What were the sleeping arrangments for 'maids of honor'? Were private rooms provided for each? If not would these young (and not so young) women share a large bed, as is depicted in so much fiction about the time period? I realize that situations would've changed as the individual became more 'senior' and with moves from place to place. Thanks!

I believe the maids of honor usually shared a dormitory or at least slept several to a room. I seem to recall some nobleman as being extremely annoyed by the giggles and noise coming from the maids' chamber. And of course the goings on in the Duchess of Norfolk's 'Maidens chamber' became notorious.
