Of those who attended Anne, one of the names is unknown: it has been suggested that it was Lady Margaret Lee, who has been identified by tradition as one of Anne's favourites. It is common in novels to use this anonymous lady as a fictitious character (as in Cynthia Harrod-Eagles's "The Dark Rose.")
Lady Kingston, wife of the gaoler of the Tower, Mrs. Coffyn and Mrs. Stonor were also in attendance as was Anne's niece, Katherine Carey.
Can you tell me how we know Katherine Carey was with Anne in the Tower? Although she would have been very young I know this is an accepted fact. I just don't know HOW we know this....if that makes sense.
