Can anyone recommend a good biography on Elizabeth of York? I would also be interested in a well-written fictional work as long as the author has done his or her research (I'm not a fan of Phillipa Gregory's books). I would appreciate any help you could give me.
Arlene Okerlund recently published a biography of Elizabeth of York. I enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteMargaret Campbell Barnes, an excellent author from the 1950's (I believe) wrote a novel about Elizabeth..."The Tudor Rose". It reads as fresh today as any other author putting out their words nowadays...think Margaret George-type.
ReplyDeleteOkerlund's biography is over £50, though I think. Nancy Lenz Harvey's biography of Elizabeth is £16 on Amazon, but has no reviews and was written forty years ago
ReplyDeleteThe King's Daughter by Sandra Worth is a good read.
ReplyDeleteThank you to everyone who answered this! Susan, I'd love to read Arlene Okerlund's book. I looked it up online, and as Guy said, it was a bit pricey. Luckily, I will be able to get my local library to borrow it from a state (Wisconsin) university. When the price goes down, I will probably buy it:) Some of the other books look tempting as well. At least I have plenty of options, now. Thanks again! Mary R
