Question from Analisa - Sources for the economy of England after the Dissoluion

What sources are out there concerning the economy of England, in particular, the villages surround monasteries, after Henry VIII closed them down?

[This is in follow-up to Analisa's previous question regarding a research topic, liked below. - Lara]

Analisa -

You might try looking at some Eamon Duffy's books. Maybe "The Voices of Morebath: Reformation and Rebellion in an English Village" (2001).

Another place you might look is in the various Victoria County History texts for different localities. These are accessible at:

http://www.british-history.ac.uk/subject.aspx?subject=5

They are listed under the 'Local History' menu choice on the left. These are in narratives of specific places in England as best as the historical record will support. Not every locality covers economic history around the Reformation but as they are searchable you can make quick work figuring out which ones might suit.

Good luck wih your project.
