I like to reference this site to get differences of opinion on subject matters rather than just crack open one of my books. That is what this site is for. But I appreciate your concern. I always say that anyone who uses the Showtime series as a history lesson is not learning wisely!

Thanks kb for the link.

Thanks for the great information Gareth.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01214203079489764068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16981893.post-37823557065048074052010-02-17T19:47:38.117-06:002010-02-17T19:47:38.117-06:00Katherine did not insist upon the excommunication,...Katherine did not insist upon the excommunication, but she and Cardinal Wolsey did enter into three-way negotiations with the Vatican about bringing sufficient pressure to bear on the King so that he was forced to banish Anne from Court. However, this occured before Anne's marriage and shortly after Wolsey was dismissed from office. There's a pretty good discussion of it in David Starkey's "Six Wives."Gareth Russellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09102113677858015813noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16981893.post-74501835651610380802010-02-16T10:25:56.600-06:002010-02-16T10:25:56.600-06:00Rachel - You might want to check the Letters &...Rachel - You might want to check the Letters & Papers Foreign & Domestic, Henry VIII for the relevant years.

They are available on

http://www.british-history.ac.ukkbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04840188159816630368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16981893.post-34671380468067934932010-02-13T20:33:21.731-06:002010-02-13T20:33:21.731-06:00Hi Rachel-
