I am looking for help finding a book or books that can give me a chronological order of English monarchs from the very begining ( not starting in 1066). I have several books put jumoing around is harder for me. I like the book to provide more information than just the highlights of each person. Prehaps also include a detailed family tree amnd more imnformation on the details of their reign. Thanks you.

Question from ? - Meghan Markle related to Jane Syemour

I have read that Meghan Markle is descended from Lord Hussey and the Wentworths, so distantly related to Jane Seymour. I keep seeing this in tabloid newspapers though - is there any source I should trust on this?

Question from Annie - Story of child falling from Queen's House at the Tower

Quick question - While visiting the tower a few years ago, I was told about a child who died in the Lieutenants Lodgings/Queen's House at some point. I think that the Yeoman said that she fell from one of the windows? Does anyone have any idea who that could have been or who her family was?

Question from David - Night bellman

In Tudor England the night bellman supposedly walked the streets, ringing his bell, crying the o'clock and adding, "All is well!" I have found contemporary references to some typical bellman activities, but none of him crying "All is well!" I wonder if this is a myth or whether anyone is aware of any evidence of this wording?

Question from Lily - Gender history dissertation ideas

I'm currently a 2nd year History student and I have to submit my dissertation proposal by April.

However I'm really stuck between a couple of ideas. I'm particular interested in gender history and/or the tudors.

I was thinking along the lines of how the cultivation of the virgin image enhanced Elizabeth's monarchical authority? Something to do with Elizabeth or maybe was Elizabeth so successful because she was protestant with comparisons to her other female counterparts?

Or a bit different, I wanted to look at gender in Weimar Germany but I wouldn't know where to start.

If anyone has any suggestions that would be great!

Question from Julian - Records of Early Modern English

I would appreciate any referrals to audio recordings of Early Modern English that I could buy. I have been re-creating the Persona of Matthew Baker, Henry VII's "great Esquire" since 2003. Having now assembled clothing, accessories, and an exhibition encampment, I thought that this year before my Lady and I get too old, we would make an attempt at Early Modern English pronunciation, speeches, and phrasing. The vocabulary and the phrasing are enshrined in contemporary documents and we have assembled a considerable library of transcriptions to help us. But the SOUNDS? Where can we find some audio recordings to buy? I understand Professor David Crystal is considered the suprmeme Authority on this subject - but i cannot find any audio recordings on sale anywhere. perhaps it's GIGO on my IT searches.Help?

Question from Jina - Daughters of Elizabeth Tilney and Agnes Tilney

Good evening,
I am hoping to get some help.

Did both Elizabeth Tilney and Agnes Tilney (cousins that were married to Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk) have children named Elizabeth Howard?

I am trying to confirm which Elizabeth married Henry Radclyffe, 2nd Earl of Sussex. I also need to confirm they had a daughter together named Mary Grey Radclyffe.

I think the two Elizabeths are being confused leaving the date of death years before Mary Grey Radclyffe's birth.
