Question from Steve - Tudor feast potatoes

Watching the Tudor Feast was wonderful, but one thing as me wondering. Seeing as potatoes were introduced to England in Tudor times (1400-1500), why were none available in the Tudor Feast ?

The potato originated in the Andes Mountains of modern-day Peru and was not "discovered" by Europeans until the late 1530s as the Conquistadors moved through that region. They were not introduced into Europe until about 1570, beginning in Spain. The reached England around 1590. They did not become a popular food item until much later. Thus, the Tudor era was over before the potato became well known in Enlgand.
